Robyn grew up in the world of dance from a very young age and successfully pursued a career as a professional dancer in Ballet and Contemporary Dance while obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree through the University of Winnipeg. She left her career in 2005 to return to school, graduating in 2007 with a Masters in Occupational Therapy through the University of Manitoba and also became certified as a Yoga Teacher (500 hours) learning from globally recognized teachers Shiva Rae and Rod Stryker.
Over the last two decades Robyn has worked as an outreach pediatric thrapist in urban and rural communities, including First Nations, providing consultative services and direct therapy in homes and in schools across Manitoba. She is commited to providing a culturally safe practice that acknowledges our Nation’s history and the impact this continues to have on people, including children, today. Robyn has taught countless public Yoga classes locally and beyond, is the co-founder of Sivatantra Yoga, runs registered Yoga Teacher Trainings annually, and continues to enjoy working with clients privately.
Robyn uses a client-centered, trauma-informed approach with current evidence-based practices and a spark of creativity. Fostered by the science of Occupational Therapy and grounded in the philosophy of Yoga, this unique combination has facilitated wonderful therapeutic results in physical, mental, and emotional aspects for her clients. She is passionate about empowering everyone to meet their challenges, recognize their abilities, and live a full and meaningful life.
